We had a long weekend and I spent it mostly trapped inside, in the fog of a cold. Thankfully all that Sopranos watching and sleeping seems to have paid off and I feel mostly recovered.
We did manage to wander up the street and I bought a new book (Before I go to sleep) and the new Joan as Policewoman album. I went to see her play with some friends last week and she was so incredible. I still feel quite awe-struck by that gig.
Now to finish Cloud Atlas.

On the weekend we had our new Swedish friends for lunch. I made these plump pea dumplings and they were delicious. I liked wrapping the small parcels. It appeals to some part of my nature.
Melbourne is cold and beautiful at the moment with bright sunlight and frost and a low mist that settled over everything (only visible from height). M had to scrape ice from his car yesterday morning, unheard of in this dull wintery town. I like clear skies and ice. I wish we had more days like those.
I watched this footage and felt so sick I think I may be a newly minted pescatarian. I wonder how much we don’t know about the way animals are treated. Even in Australia. M promises me that it is much better here but we are still sending living things to their deaths. Laziness has stopped me from being a vegetarian in the past. I think it might be easier than I think.

A great big sky. Can change everything.
Hello again. Almost a year slipped by. And then I came back.

I spent the day in my bedroom eating watermelon and walnuts. Unlike these two, who spent it some other way.

This is a guide for instructing posthumans in living a Dada life. It is not advisable, nor was it ever, to lead a Dada life. It is and it was always foolish and self-destructive to lead a Dada life because a Dada life will include by definition pranks, buffoonery, masking, deranged senses, intoxication, sabotage, taboo breaking, playing childish and/or dangerous games, waking up dead gods and not taking education seriously.
The opening lines of The Posthuman Dada Guide.
Fantastiche!
Also great, On Kindness, which this exhibition was based on, though I didn’t know it at the time…

This was what the sky looked like a week or so ago. It reminded me of a Turner painting. Beautiful.

It is not all as you imagine, as I imagine,
The flag still waves,
The little secrets are still with their senses,
They still cast shadows, of them
You live, I live, we live.
