I grew up on a small island in Bass Strait, went to boarding school, hung out with punks in Hobart in the mid-nineties before arriving in Melbourne in 1999 wide-eyed and raw. I gained a first-class honours degree from La Trobe in Anthropology and a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing from RMIT. I worked in bookshops and I read as much as I could get my hands on. I saw a lot of music, a lot of art and I travelled. I married a Swedish scientist.
For a number of years I worked as the Sales Manager for Australia's premier art and design book distributor Books at Manic. More recently I have shifted my focus to magazine writing and I write regularly about design, parenting, mindfulness, gardening and the environment.
